About Aqua Virgo Aqueduct, Rome
Agrippa commissioned the Aqua Virgo in 19 BCE to bring water to the Campus Martius and his baths. Claudius later repaired arches damaged during Caligula's building works.
The aqueduct remains in operation; the visible arches on Via del Nazareno preserve a Claudian repair inscription.
