Princess Alice of Battenberg was mother of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and wife of Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark. She was born at Windsor and later lived in Greece; Philip was her youngest child.

Alice died at Buckingham Palace on December 5, 1969. She was first placed in the Royal Vault at St George's Chapel, Windsor, on December 10. Her remains were transferred to Jerusalem on August 3, 1988, and now rest in the Church of St Mary Magdalene on the Mount of Olives.
