About Washington County Courthouse
Washington County built this courthouse in 1940 with Public Works Administration funds, the fourth courthouse to serve the county since its 1835 formation. Constructed under County Judge Sam Low, the limestone building was designed in the art moderne style, with cast aluminum eagles and light fixtures marking its entries. It has long served as the county seat.
HISTORY HAPPENED HERE at Washington County Courthouse
