HISTORIC PRESERVATION at Wallblake House.
The house preserves its original eighteenth-century timber-frame plantation structure along with an adjacent stone kitchen and cistern, making it one of the oldest surviving buildings on Anguilla. It is maintained by a local preservation trust in cooperation with the neighboring parish that owns the surrounding property. The house is open to visitors for guided tours on a limited schedule.
About Wallblake House
Wallblake House was built in the late eighteenth century as the great house of a sugar and cotton plantation on Anguilla. Enslaved Africans worked the surrounding fields, and the property passed through several generations of a planter family tied to the island's plantation economy. It served as the administrative and social center of one of Anguilla's principal estates.
