HISTORIC PRESERVATION at Valencia Cathedral (Holy Grail Chapel).

The Gothic cathedral preserves its Miguelete bell tower, the Romanesque Puerta del Palau, a Gothic nave, and a side chapel housing an agate chalice venerated as the Holy Grail. It is the seat of the Archdiocese of Valencia. The cathedral remains an active place of worship and is open to visitors on a ticketed basis outside of services.

About Valencia Cathedral (Holy Grail Chapel)

Valencia Cathedral was built from 1262 on the site of the city's main mosque after the Christian reconquest, combining Romanesque, Gothic, and later Baroque elements. Its side chapel houses an agate cup that tradition, though historically unproven, identifies as the Holy Grail used at the Last Supper. It served for centuries as the seat of Valencia's bishops.
