The Grove Museum preserves the Call Collins House, a Greek Revival mansion built for territorial governor Richard Keith Call, retaining much of its original architectural detailing along with surrounding gardens and outbuildings. It is owned and operated by the State of Florida as a historic house museum. The house is open to the public through guided tours.
About The Grove Museum
The Grove was built in the 1830s and 1840s as the plantation house of Richard Keith Call, a territorial governor of Florida, using enslaved labor. The Greek Revival mansion later passed to his descendants and eventually became the home of Florida governor LeRoy Collins. It stood as a symbol of antebellum political power in Tallahassee.
