The temple preserves seven chapels and hypostyle halls with extensively carved and painted relief decoration, along with the adjoining Osireion, a subterranean structure behind the main temple that survives in a more ruined state. It is managed by Egypt's Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities as a protected archaeological site. The temple is open to the public on a ticketed basis.
About Temple of Seti I
The Temple of Seti I at Abydos was built under the pharaoh Seti I of the New Kingdom as a dedication to Osiris and other major deities. Its walls were inscribed with the King List, a record of Seti's royal predecessors. The temple served as a cult center linked to Osiris and reinforced the legitimacy of Seti's dynasty.
