HISTORIC PRESERVATION at Su Nuraxi di Barumini.

The site preserves the largest and best known Bronze Age nuragic complex in Sardinia, including the central multi-story stone tower, surrounding bastion towers, a fortified village of stone huts, and defensive walls, mostly original megalithic construction rather than reconstruction. It is a World Heritage Site managed by Italy's Ministry of Culture through local heritage authorities. The complex is open to the public as a ticketed archaeological park with guided access to parts of the tower structure.

About Su Nuraxi di Barumini

Su Nuraxi di Barumini was built by the Nuragic civilization of Sardinia beginning in the second millennium BCE as a stone tower fortress with a surrounding village. Constructed from megalithic basalt blocks without mortar, its central keep was later expanded with additional bastion towers and walls. It stood as a major political and defensive center of Bronze Age Sardinia.
