About St George's Episcopal Church
A church occupied this site throughout the Revolutionary era, although the present building dates from 1849. The congregation included members of the Washington family and served Fredericksburg’s Anglican community. The present 1849 brick church occupies the site of earlier Fredericksburg parish buildings and remains an active Episcopal congregation.
