HISTORIC PRESERVATION at Soufrière Estate & Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens.

The property preserves its botanical gardens, mineral baths fed by volcanic hot springs, and a waterfall, along with estate buildings and grounds developed on land granted during the French colonial era. It remains in private ownership, held by descendants of the original estate family. The gardens and baths are open to the public on a ticketed basis.

About Soufrière Estate & Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens

The Soufrière Estate was granted to a French colonial family in the eighteenth century as part of Saint Lucia's plantation economy. Mineral baths were built on the estate to draw on nearby volcanic hot springs, reportedly for the benefit of French troops. The estate combined sugar farming with these springs under French rule before the island passed to Britain.
