About Snook

Snook was settled in the 1880s by Czech immigrants and was originally known as Sebesta's Corner before being renamed in 1895 for John Snook, who helped secure a local post office. The community developed a one-room school, a cooperative store, and a lodge of the Czechoslovak Benevolent Society. These institutions reflected its strong Czech heritage.
