About Site of Soule University for Boys
Soule University for Boys was established in 1855 and chartered in 1856, succeeding Rutersville and Wesleyan Colleges as an educational institution at Chappell Hill. It closed during the Civil War and later due to a yellow fever epidemic. In 1875 its work passed to the newly formed Southwestern University.
