About Site of Chappell Hill College
Chappell Hill College began in 1852 as the Chappell Hill Male and Female Institute, established by the Methodist Church. After Soule University for Boys opened nearby in 1856, the institute became a school for girls, operating as Chappell Hill College until it closed in 1912. It served as an educational institution for the local Methodist community.
