HISTORIC PRESERVATION at Sagalassos.

The ruins include a well-preserved Hellenistic theater, the monumental Antonine Nymphaeum fountain, a Roman bath complex, an agora, and a necropolis spread across the mountainside, with some structures reconstructed through anastylosis during excavation. The site is under the authority of Turkey's Ministry of Culture and Tourism, with excavation and conservation carried out by a university-led archaeological team. It is open to the public as an outdoor archaeological park, accessible on a ticketed basis.

About Sagalassos

Sagalassos was an ancient city in the region of Pisidia in Asia Minor, inhabited from at least the Hellenistic period and flourishing under Roman rule. It became a major center of pottery production and public building, styling itself the leading city of Pisidia. The city declined after a severe earthquake in the seventh century CE.
