About S.P.J.S.T. San Antonio Prairie Cemetery
The Slavonic Benevolent Order of the State of Texas established this cemetery in the early twentieth century to serve a rural Czech immigrant community near Caldwell. Burleson County's Czech settlers had organized fraternal lodges for mutual aid, insurance, and cultural preservation. The cemetery served area families as a burial ground tied to the lodge's local chapter.
