About Rusicade Roman Ruins, Skikda
Rusicade began as a Phoenician and Numidian coastal settlement before becoming a Roman colony under Augustus in the first century BCE. It served as the port for the inland city of Cirta, capital of Numidia, linking the region to Mediterranean trade. The city prospered under Roman rule, acquiring a theater and other public buildings typical of a provincial port.
