HISTORIC PRESERVATION at Royal Collections Gallery (Galería de las Colecciones Reales).
The Royal Collections Gallery is a purpose built modern museum structure adjoining the Royal Palace of Madrid, so its fabric consists of contemporary construction rather than historic remains, housing original royal collections objects including tapestries, carriages, and paintings transferred from the royal patrimony. It is owned and managed by Patrimonio Nacional, the Spanish state agency responsible for royal heritage properties. The museum is open to the public on a ticketed basis.
About Royal Collections Gallery (Galería de las Colecciones Reales)
The Royal Collections Gallery opened in Madrid in 2023 as a purpose-built museum beside the Royal Palace to display treasures assembled by the Spanish crown over centuries. Its holdings include tapestries, paintings, armor, and royal carriages gathered through royal patronage from the sixteenth century onward. The gallery presented these works as a continuous record of Spanish court culture.
