The site preserves excavated remains of a Roman era public bath complex, including sections of brick and masonry walls and underfloor heating channels, set within an open archaeological enclosure in the city center. It is administered by the Greek Ministry of Culture as a protected archaeological site. The ruins are open to the public for viewing at street level.
About Roman Baths of Thessaloniki
The Roman Baths of Thessaloniki were a public bathing complex built around the second or third century CE, when the city was a major center of Roman Macedonia. Like other Roman baths, they combined hot, warm, and cold bathing rooms with spaces for exercise and socializing. The complex served the daily hygienic and social life of the city's Roman inhabitants.
