The original eighteenth-century house survives as one of Colonial Williamsburg’s oldest buildings. Restored rooms, dependencies, yard, and archaeological evidence support its interpretation.

About Peyton Randolph House

Peyton Randolph’s Williamsburg home belonged to the first president of the Continental Congress and a leader of Virginia’s resistance politics. Meetings and hospitality there supported Patriot networks. Randolph died in 1775, but his public leadership helped unite the colonies before independence.
