About Pease River Battle Site (Cynthia Ann Parker's Recapture)
Texas Rangers under Lawrence Sullivan Ross attacked a Comanche camp along the Pease River on December 18, 1860, in the course of which they recaptured Cynthia Ann Parker, taken captive in the 1836 Fort Parker raid twenty-four years earlier, along with her infant daughter, ending her life among the Comanche and that of her husband, war leader Peta Nocona.
