About Oldest House

Built around 1859, this adobe house with a thatched roof stood in the old townsite of St. Gall, part of the first Fort Stockton settlement. It served as one of the earliest family residences in the fledgling West Texas community. The house represented the domestic side of frontier settlement alongside the newly established military post at Fort Stockton.
