About Old Franklin

Old Franklin was founded in the 1830s in what became Robertson County, Texas, and served for a period as the county's original seat of government. As settlement patterns shifted and the community declined, a new town of Franklin was established nearby to take its place. It marked one of the county's earliest Anglo-American settlements on the frontier.
