HISTORIC PRESERVATION at Manzana Jesuítica de Córdoba (Jesuit Block).

The Jesuit Block retains the Church of the Society of Jesus, the original buildings of the Colegio Nacional de Monserrat, and the historic core of the National University of Córdoba, among the oldest Jesuit constructions in South America. It forms part of a World Heritage Site and is managed jointly by the Jesuit order, the university, and Argentine heritage authorities. The church and university buildings remain in active use, with the historic block accessible on foot and by guided tour.

About Manzana Jesuítica de Córdoba (Jesuit Block)

Jesuit missionaries built the Manzana Jesuítica in Córdoba during the seventeenth century, establishing a church, a residence, and the school that grew into the University of Córdoba, founded in 1613. The complex served as an administrative and educational center for Jesuit missions across the region. Spain's expulsion of the Jesuits in 1767 ended their control.
