The Manitoba Legislative Building preserves its original Beaux-Arts limestone structure, dome topped by the Golden Boy statue, and much of its interior stonework and murals largely intact. It is owned and maintained by the Government of Manitoba as its seat of provincial government. The building is open to the public for tours and remains in active legislative use.
About Manitoba Legislative Building
The Manitoba Legislative Building was constructed between 1913 and 1920 in the Beaux-Arts style to house the provincial government, replacing an earlier statehouse on the site. It was topped with the gilded Golden Boy statue, symbolizing the province's agricultural prosperity. The building has served since its completion as the seat of Manitoba's legislature and executive government.
