About Major William Edward Howth
William Edward Howth was born in New York City in 1810. He took part in the capture of San Antonio in 1835, during the Texas Revolution, and served as a major in the Army of Texas in 1836, following Texas's declaration of independence from Mexico. He died in 1859, and was buried in Chappell Hill.
