About Kings Highway Camino Real - Old San Antonio Road (Benchley)
This marker traces the path of the Old San Antonio Road, the Texas segment of El Camino Real de los Tejas, the network of Spanish colonial roads connecting Mexico to the East Texas missions beginning in the 1690s. The route later guided Anglo-American settlers, including many of Brazos County's earliest families, into the interior of Texas.
