HISTORIC PRESERVATION at Kamiros.

The ruins preserve the layout of a Doric Greek city, including a Hellenistic stoa, temple foundations, an agora, a network of residential terraces, and a large necropolis outside the city. The site is managed by the Greek Ministry of Culture through its local ephorate of antiquities. It is open to the public as an archaeological site on a ticketed basis.

About Kamiros

Kamiros was one of three ancient Doric cities on Rhodes, founded by Greek settlers around the eighth century BCE. It developed as an agricultural community known for wine and olive production, with a terraced sanctuary, marketplace, and residential quarter built on its hillside. In 408 BCE it joined Lindos and Ialysos to form the unified city of Rhodes.
