About Jahili Fort
Jahili Fort was built in the late nineteenth century by the ruling Al Nahyan family to defend Al Ain's oasis and palm groves and to serve as a royal residence. In the twentieth century it served as a base for British-officered Trucial Oman forces. It anchored the defense of the oasis and its date-growing economy.
