This graveyard contains the remains of numerous Delaware figures from the colonial, revolutionary, and early national periods, including George Read, a signer of the Declaration of Independence and Constitution. Governors Nicholas Van Dyke and Gunning Bedford and many soldiers, clergy, physicians, and civic leaders are also associated with the burial ground.
