HISTORIC PRESERVATION at Hatta Heritage Village.

The site preserves a reconstruction of a traditional Hajar mountain settlement, including rebuilt mud brick and stone houses, a fort tower, mosque, and falaj irrigation channel, rather than continuously inhabited original fabric. It is maintained by the government of Dubai as a heritage and tourism site. The village is open to the public and freely accessible.

About Hatta Heritage Village

The Hatta area has been inhabited since ancient times, with remains in its mountains dating to the Iron Age. Its mud-brick houses, a fortified watchtower, and irrigation channels served a farming and Bedouin community that relied on date cultivation and seasonal grazing. The village illustrated traditional Emirati mountain life before modern development.
