About Gold Museum of Peru (Museo Oro del Perú)
The Gold Museum of Peru was founded in Lima in the mid-twentieth century by private collector Miguel Mujica Gallo to display pre-Columbian gold and metalwork. Alongside indigenous Andean artifacts, it houses an extensive collection of historic arms and armor from around the world. The museum has drawn scholarly debate over the authenticity of some pre-Columbian pieces.
