About Glanum, Saint-Rémy-de-Provence

Glanum grew from a Celto-Ligurian settlement of the sixth century BCE into a Hellenized town influenced by Greek Massalia, centered on a sacred spring linked to the deity Glanis. It became a Roman town under Augustus, adorned with temples, baths, and monuments. The site served as a religious and commercial center on a route linking Italy and Spain.
