Archaeological remains of Washington’s commercial complex are preserved near Mount Vernon, accompanied by working reconstructions of the distillery and gristmill. Recreated machinery, furnished workspaces, exhibits, grounds, and demonstrations interpret period production methods while distinguishing the modern buildings from original surviving foundations.
