About Fort Davis United Methodist Church

Methodist settlers in the West Texas town of Fort Davis organized a church in the nineteenth century to serve local families and the nearby military post. The congregation built a sanctuary to hold regular worship services as the small town grew around the fort. The church served as a center of religious and community life in this remote settlement.
