About Dr. Asa Hoxey Home
The Dr. Asa Hoxey Home was the residence of an early nineteenth-century physician and settler in the town of Independence, Texas, then part of Stephen F. Austin's colony. Hoxey took part in the civic life of the early settlement. The house represents the modest homes built by pioneer families in the Texas colonial period.
