About Deanville

Deanville was founded in 1872 by merchant James L. Dean along a branch of the Chisholm Cattle Trail, with a post office established in 1877. The Houston and Texas Central Railroad extended its line to the town in 1913. The Sons of Hermann lodge, organized in 1916, sponsored an annual Fourth of July celebration that continued the community's civic tradition.

HISTORY HAPPENED HERE at Deanville

Founded 1872 by merchant James L. Dean (born 1841) on an arm of Chisholm Cattle Trail. The post office was established 1877. Houston & Texas Central Railroad extended line here in 1913.
