The medieval great hall, built in the fifteenth century, survives as a relocated structure, having been dismantled from its original site in Bishopsgate and rebuilt in Chelsea in the early twentieth century, with a large modern mansion later added around it. It is in private ownership and is not designated as a National Trust or English Heritage property. The building is not generally open to the public.
About Crosby Hall, London
Crosby Hall was built between 1466 and 1475 in Bishopsgate, London, as the great hall of a mansion for the wool merchant Sir John Crosby. Later owners included Richard, Duke of Gloucester, before he became king, and Sir Thomas More, who acquired the adjoining property. Threatened with demolition, the hall was dismantled and rebuilt in Chelsea in 1910.
