About City of Caldwell
The City of Caldwell was established in the mid-nineteenth century as the county seat of Burleson County in central Texas. It was named for Mathew Caldwell, a signer of the Texas Declaration of Independence and a leader in the Texas Revolution. The town grew as an agricultural trade center serving surrounding farms and ranches.
