About City of Brenham
Brenham was established in 1844 as a Texas town, taking its name from Dr. Richard Fox Brenham, a surgeon in the army of the Republic of Texas. Brenham had served on the Mier Expedition and was killed at Salado, Mexico, in February 1843. The town grew as a county seat commemorating a figure of the Texas revolutionary era.
