The original tavern burned in the nineteenth century. Colonial Williamsburg operates a twentieth-century reconstruction on the historic site, with period-style dining rooms, furnishings, kitchen spaces, dependencies, and gardens recreating the appearance and functions of an eighteenth-century tavern rather than preserving original fabric.
