About Château de Cheverny
The Chateau de Cheverny was built in the early seventeenth century for the Hurault family, French nobles who had served the crown for generations. Constructed in a restrained Classical style, it replaced an earlier medieval residence on the family's estate. It remained in Hurault hands for centuries and became known for its rich interiors and its tradition of hunting with hounds.
