About Castello Orsini-Odescalchi
The Castello Orsini-Odescalchi was built by the Orsini family in the fifteenth century as a fortified quadrilateral castle overlooking Lake Bracciano near Rome. It passed by marriage and purchase through several noble Roman families before the Odescalchi acquired it in the late seventeenth century. For centuries it served as a stronghold and a residence of the papal aristocracy.
