About Castello di Racconigi
A fortified castle was built at Racconigi in the eleventh century, later passing to the House of Savoy and its Carignano branch. From the seventeenth century onward it was rebuilt and expanded as a princely residence, with formal gardens added in later centuries. It served as one of the principal country residences of the Savoy dynasty.
