About Buffalo Gap Historic Village
Settled in the late 1870s at a natural pass in the Callahan Divide used for centuries by bison herds and Native travelers, Buffalo Gap briefly served as the first Taylor County seat before losing the designation to Abilene after the railroad bypassed the town in 1881.
