About Brenham
Founded in 1843 and named for Richard Fox Brenham, a Republic of Texas patriot, the town served as a railhead and supply center during the Civil War. Blinn Memorial College was established there in 1883, and Brenham grew into a regional center for farming, trade, and manufacturing, later known for its annual Maifest folk festival.
