HISTORIC PRESERVATION at Bloody Angle Marker.

A historical marker and preserved Battle Road landscape identify the wooded bend known as Bloody Angle within Minute Man National Historical Park. Trails, stone walls, interpretive features, and reconstructed historic scenery mark the ambush area, though no substantial Revolutionary-period structure stands at the site.

About Bloody Angle Marker

Some of the fiercest fighting of April 19, 1775, occurred at this bend in the road. Woods and curves allowed Massachusetts militia to ambush the retreating British column from concealed positions. Heavy fire at the Bloody Angle contributed to the severe losses suffered on the return from Concord.
