About Blinn College
The school was founded in 1883 in Brenham as the Mission Institute under Methodist affiliation. A gift from the Reverend Christian Blinn funded its main hall in 1887, and the institution was renamed Blinn Memorial in 1889, with its main building completed in 1906. It became a junior college in 1927, joining Texas's Methodist-affiliated colleges.
HISTORY HAPPENED HERE at Blinn College
Founded as "Mission Institute", March 28, 1883. Methodist affiliated. 1887 gift of Rev. Christian Blinn of New York built main hall. Name was changed 1889 to Blinn Memorial.
