About Bishop's Palace (Gresham House)
Built between 1887 and 1892 for attorney and politician Walter Gresham, this ornate Victorian mansion is considered one of the finest examples of Gilded Age residential architecture in Texas and survived the catastrophic 1900 Galveston hurricane relatively unscathed, later serving as a diocesan residence.
