About Battle of Yellow House Canyon Site

Buffalo hunters and a detachment of Texas troops clashed with a Comanche band in Yellow House Canyon in March 1877, one of the last significant armed encounters between Anglo forces and Comanche resistance on the South Plains as the buffalo economy and final tribal holdouts collapsed together in the years following the Red River War.
