HISTORIC PRESERVATION at Badagry Heritage Museum.

The Badagry Heritage Museum occupies a former colonial administrative building on the Marina that survives largely intact, displaying artifacts, documents, and exhibits relating to the transatlantic slave trade and the history of Badagry. It is overseen under Nigeria's National Commission for Museums and Monuments. The museum is open to the public on a ticketed basis.

About Badagry Heritage Museum

Badagry served as a major port of departure for enslaved Africans shipped across the Atlantic from the seventeenth century onward. The Badagry Heritage Museum was established in a former colonial-era building in the early twenty-first century to document that history. It functioned as an educational institution focused on the town's role in the slave trade and regional commerce.
